Patrick R. Norris, Esq.

Chief Executive Officer, Corporate Counsel, Trust Attorney, Dispute Resolution

Patrick founded Norris Legal in 2011.  He combines his own experience as a business owner with his tax planning background to advise individuals, families and business owners from all walks of life and wealth.  By combining his strong belief in communication with his small town values, Patrick has also delivered results for his clients in resolving a wide range of conflicts related to family disputes, business disputes, estate disputes or some combination of the same.

Patrick is originally from Sandersville, Georgia, the “Kaolin Capital” of the World.  He obtained his undergraduate degrees in Speech Communication and Mass Communication from the University of Georgia before moving to Atlanta in 2006 to obtain his Juris Doctor from Georgia State University.  He entered practice in 2009, practicing with two boutique tax law firms in Atlanta before starting Norris Legal in 2011. He is licensed to practice in Georgia and now lives in the Buckhead Area of Atlanta with his wife Emily.

George H. Smith, Esq.

Chief Financial Officer, Closing Coordinator

George is one of the few attorneys in the State of Georgia to hold the highly accredited certification of Certified Legal Manager.  He joined Atlanta Law Group as its Chief Financial Officer in 2017, overseeing the Firm’s finances, internal systems and human resources.  George is also a certified Title Agent through Fidelity National Title Insurance Company.  As an approved Title Agent, George conducts numerous residential and commercial closings while maintaining his own Title Agency.  Many of Atlanta Law Group’s complex mergers & acquisitions and other corporate and real estate transactions also involve George as the Firm’s Closing Coordinator.

George is a Georgia native, born and raised in the Emory neighborhood of Atlanta.  He obtained his education through combined attendance at Emory University and the University of Georgia.  George is an active Sunday School Teacher and contributor to the Atlanta Community.

Benjamin C. Stidham, Esq.

Managing Director, Corporate Transactions, Corporate Organizations, Taxation

Ben oversees the Firm’s day to day corporate legal transactions.  With an LL.M. Masters of Taxation Degree, Ben advises the Firm’s clients on mergers, acquisitions, ownership of corporate assets, corporate entity structures, corporate governance, maintenance and taxation.  He also helps business owners become compliant, and remain compliant, on a wide range of issues related to tax reporting, licensing and state and federal registrations.  In doing so, Ben has achieved a number of positive resolutions for the Firm’s clients with the Internal Revenue Service, as well as State Agencies and Local Municipalities across the Southeastern United States.

Ben joined the Firm directly from Law School in 2014. He is licensed to practice in Georgia and Florida.  Ben is a native of Atlanta and is an avid supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks from whom he obtained his education.  He now lives in the Woodstock Area of Metro Atlanta.

J. Harmon Groves, Esq.

Estate Planning, Trust and Estate Administration

Harmon serves as one of Atlanta Law Group’s initial points of contact for new Estate Planning Clients.  He has a wide experience and exposure to the variety of Estate Planning structures and considerations that exist under current tax laws and are offered by Atlanta Law Group and the Atlanta Estate Planning Community.  Harmon also assists and serves as a primary point of contact for the management and day to day oversight of all Trusts and Estates which the Firm is representing.  He makes significant contributions to the Firm’s guidance to its clients on Trust and Estate administration, compliance, accounting, reporting and fiduciary governance.

Originally from the Woodstock area of Metro Atlanta, Harmon joined Atlanta Law Group after graduating Law School from the University of South Carolina in 2017.  Prior to completing his Juris Doctor, he completed his Undergraduate Degree from the University of Georgia.  Harmon is licensed to practice in South Carolina and is currently processing for admission to the State Bar of Georgia.  Outside of practice, he remains active in youth leadership and networking opportunities throughout the Atlanta area.

Mark D. Oaks, Esq.

Contracts, Corporate Counsel

Mark brings his diverse background in tax and corporate counsel to the Firm’s tax and legal planning groups.  He also works with the Firm’s corporate clients and family owned businesses to minimize their risk through the use of foresight and written agreements.  Mark has worked with companies across the Southeast of various size, including start-up companies and private equity funds.

Mark joined the Firm in 2016. He is licensed to practice in Georgia and South Carolina. Mark is originally from Arizona but he is an avid supporter of the Chicago Cubs where much of family is from.  He and his wife Heather live with their two children, Luke and Stella, in the Woodstock Area of Metro Atlanta.

Carol M. Jabaley

Director of Operations and Client Services

Carol serves as the Firm’s Director of Operations and Client Services.  Known for her professionalism and southern hospitality, Carol oversees and assists with the file maintenance and record keeping for all of Atlanta Law Group’s clients.  She also manages the Firm’s day to day operations, while serving as a Primary Point of Contact for all Firm Clients and Vendors.

Carol joined the Firm in 2015.  She is a proud graduate of Georgia State University and an avid supporter of Georgia Tech Athletics. Carol is originally from LaGrange, Georgia where much of her family still resides.  She is now a long-time resident of Midtown Atlanta.
